Laura Adams, physics graduate student, will describe
her participation in an NSF-sponsored workshop entitled
“Forward to Professorship,” designed for
women beginning their academic careers in science and
engineering.

Assistant Professor Lilya Williams, Department of Astronomy,
and astronomy graduate student Kisha Delain will discuss
what they learned at the “Women in Astronomy II”
meeting held at Caltech this past summer.

Susan Rani (Civil ’82, M.B.A. ’91), founder
of Rani Engineering, which provides professional consulting
services in transportation, water resources, and environment
planning.
March 19
Sonia Fisher, IT graduate in computer science, is currently
a senior software consultant. While a University student
she was a founder of Alpha Sigma Kappa, a sorority for
women in science and technology. She is active in helping
women in technical careers and serves as a mentor for
IT and NAFE.
