Upper division

You must apply for admission to IT upper division (junior and senior years) by the time you have completed 60 semester credits. You may not enroll in upper division courses until you have been formally admitted to upper division in your major. Transfer students must complete at least one semester at the University before apply for upper division status.

To be admitted to upper division, you must have successfully completed or be registered for the courses designated for your major. In addition, your technical GPA (based on all technical courses) must meet or exceed designated requirements. These requirements vary according to the date of your admission to the University of Minnesota. Separate application forms for each category include complete instructions and information about minimum requirements for admission.

Upon admission to upper division, you will be assigned an advisor from your major department. For more information, contact the department offering your program of interest.
