Changing your registration
You may change your registration through the end of the second week
of the semester. Before making major changes in your registration
you should talk to an advisor. Changing your credit load may also
change your fees, so be sure to check your student account online.
NOTE: As of fall 1999, all required courses in your major must be
completed with a C- or better. Exceptions must be approved by the
department's director of undergraduate studies.
Adding courses
If you enter a course after the first class session, talk to the instructor
to make sure you have all the materials and know all the class policies.
Instructor permission is required to add a course after the second
week of classes. Adding a class during weeks 3-8 requires permission
from both the instructor and the Office of Student Services (105 Lind
Hall). Registering for more than 19 credits also requires approval
from the Office of Student Services.
Before adding courses, lower division students should see an advisor
in 128 Lind Hall.
Canceling courses
Cancellation of a course during the first and second weeks
of the semester will remove the course from your transcript. Courses
canceled during weeks 3-8 will appear on your transcript with a grade
of “W.” This grade is NOT included in the grading system
and has no adverse consequences.
During their enrollment at the University, IT students are allowed
one discretionary course cancellation after the eighth week of the
semester (the cancellation must occur by the end of the last day
of classes). You will receive a grade of “W” on your transcript.
Go to 105 Lind Hall for permission.
If you receive financial aid, check with the Office of Student Finances
before you drop below 12 credits. (International students must first
visit the International Student
and Scholar Services office, 190 HHHCtr, before dropping below
12 credits.)
Changing grading options
You can change the grading system from A-F to S-N or vice versa
through the second week of the semester; no approval is required.
For exceptions, see an advisor in 105 Lind Hall. After the second
week, you may not change your grade base.
