Tutorial services

Free tutorial services for all University of Minnesota students are offered during the day in Lind Hall and during the evening in residence halls. There is no charge for tutorial services.

Day

Tutors are available to help you with mathematics, physics, chemistry, and other related IT lower-division courses as well as some IT upper-division courses.

One-to-one tutoring is available in 128 Lind Hall by appointment. Services are available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Appointments are 25 minutes long (two slots per class hour) and are held in 128 Lind Hall. Call 612-624-2890 to schedule an appointment.

One-to-one tutoring is also available in 150 Lind Hall (the Taylor Undergraduate Academic Center) on a walk-in basis. Services available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Schedules are subject to change, so please stop by 128 Lind Hall or call 612-624-2890 for the most current information.

Evenings

Tutors also are available in most of the residence halls, Sunday through Thursday evening. Evenings and hours are posted on the tutoring schedule. Otherwise, please check in at the front desk of your hall.

Other study aids

Quiz review materials for freshman and sophomore calculus and first-year physics courses are available in the corridor leading to 150 Lind Hall. The problems—which include detailed solutions—are designed to test your knowledge of the principles and concepts of the course material. You can pick up the materials in the corridor outside 150 Lind Hall.

The IT Student Board (123 Lind Hall) and the Society of Women Engineers (25A Lind Hall) maintain extensive files of past examinations from IT courses for use as study aids.
