Institute of Technology engineers and scientists are on the leading edge of finding ways to solve some of the world’s greatest problems by developing new forms of environment-friendly energy, designing new medical devices, and improving digital and electronic technologies.

In the last five years, research by Institute of Technology faculty has generated 324 intellectual property disclosures, 80 patents, and five start-up companies.

Institute of Technology students are some of the best and brightest students at the University. More than 90 percent of our incoming students graduated in the top 25 percent of their high school class. Companies around the world seek out our graduates, and Minnesota high-tech companies depend on them. More than half of our students secure jobs in Minnesota-based companies.
