IT welcomes new students

The Institute of Technology welcomes an estimated 800 new freshmen to campus this fall. Overall, the college experienced a 10 percent increase in freshmen applications over last year. Applications from women also increased (up 13 percent), as did applications from students graduating in the top 10 percent of their high school class (up 20 percent). The University community is invited to welcome students at New Student Convocation at 4 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 4. The event begins with a special ceremony in Northrop Auditorium, followed by a celebration of pride and spirit in Coffman Memorial Union. More…
