Professor Kim Stelson presents Institute of Technology Public
Lecture on fluid power
Fluid-powered hybrid vehicles, hydraulic canes and artifical limbs,
and state-of-the-art rescue robots are just a few examples of the
cutting-edge uses of fluid power being studied at a new multimillion-dollar
research center sponsored by the National Science Foundation and
based at the University of Minnesota. Mechanical Engineering Professor

Stelson, who also serves as director of the Institute of Technology's
new NSF Center for Compact and Efficient
Fluid Power will speak at the Institute of Technology Public
Lecture on fluid power at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, at 402 Walter
Library. Professor Stelson will explain how researchers at the
center are working on new ways to save energy and improve our lives
by using fluid power. The event is sponsored by the Institute of
